New York is a state in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. New York is the 27th-most widespread, the third-most crowded and the seventh-most densely populated of the Fifty United States. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and by Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border with Rhode Island east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north.

 A drug is, in the broadest of terms, a chemical substance that has known biological effects on humans or other animals. Foods are generally excluded from this definition, in spite of their physiological effects on animal species. Prostitution is the business or practice of engaging in sexual relations in exchange for payment or some other benefit. Prostitution is sometimes described as commercial sex. A person who works in this field is called a prostitute, and is a kind of sex worker. Prostitution is one of the branches of the sex industry.


Prostitution is occasionally also referred to as "the world's oldest profession".Violent crime in New York City has been plummeting since 1990. Crime rates spiked in the 1980s and early 1990s as the crack outbreak hit the city. During the 1990s the NYPD(New York City Police Department) adopted CompStat, broken windows policing and other strategies in a major effort to reduce crime. The city's dramatic drop in crime has been attributed by criminologists to policing tactics, the end of the crack .
