Bella was stuck with an estimated 500 quills which got her face, mouth, feet, and body. Bella is expected to make a full recovery even though of the the quills are still in her body.

Martin Scorsese heckled at Academy screening

It seems that some of the Academy’s older members didn’t take to kindly to some of the film’s sex-and-drug-fuelled content, with actress Hope Holiday updating her Facebook page with a scathing account of the evening.

“Last night was torture at the Academy,” said Holiday. “The Wolf Of Wall Street - three hours of torture.

"Same disgusting crap over and over again - after the film they had a discussion which a lot of us did not stay for.”

"The elevator doors opened and Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese and a few others got out. Then a screenwriter ran over to them and started screaming, 'Shame on you'. Disgusting."

Sounds like that Best Picture gong might not be a particularly safe bet, then... The Wolf Of Wall Street will open in the UK on 17 January 2014.

Shia LaBeouf apologises after plagiarizing artist Daniel Clowes for his new short film

Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has been accused of plagiarizing comic book writer Daniel Clowes for a short film he directed. Shia posted his new short film HowardCantour.com online on Monday, December 16 having first debuted the work at the May 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

The piece stars Jim Gaffigan as an online film critic named Howard Cantour, and it is almost a direct adaptation of Justin M. Damiano, a 2007 comic written and drawn by famed artist Daniel Clowes.
Read Story: Transformers 2 was not a good movie: Shia LaBeouf

"In my excitement and naiveté as an amateur filmmaker, I got lost in the creative process and neglected to follow proper accreditation," tweeted LaBeouf.

It is surprising to find that nowhere in the promotion for or credits of the film does LaBeouf mention the Clowes comic.

Eric Reynolds, longtime editor of Clowes' comics and associate publisher at Fantagraphics, called the film "shameless theft!"

"The first I ever heard of the film was this morning when someone sent me a link. I've never spoken to or met Mr. LaBeouf," Clowes was quoted saying. "I've never even seen one of his films that I can recall - and I was shocked, to say the least, when I saw that he took the script and even many of the visuals from a very personal story I did six or seven years ago and passed it off as his own work. I actually can't imagine what was going through his mind."

Both the film and comic start with narration by the main character, who says, "A critic is a warrior, and each of us on the battlefield have the means to glorify or demolish (whether a film, a career, or an entire philosophy) by influencing perception in ways that if heartfelt and truthful, can have far-reaching repercussions."

The astounding similarities continue through the end of the film and the pieces share many more direct quotes.

This accusation is not the first as LaBeouf has been accused of plagiarism before, taking blocks of quotes from an Esquire article and pasting them into an email he sent Alec Baldwin that he leaked online.

LaBeouf tweeted: "Copying isn't particularly creative work. Being inspired by someone else's idea to produce something new and different IS creative work."

LaBeouf claimed he wasn't "copying" Clowes, but rather was "inspired" by him and "got lost in the creative process."

A representative for LaBeouf has not immediately returned a request for comment, but the film is now password protected.

Ronnie Wood And Wife Sally Humphreys Mistaken For Father And Daughter Not Man And Wife!

Ronnie Wood And Wife Sally Humphreys Mistaken For Father And Daughter Not Man And Wife!

This time last year the Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood married Sally Humphreys, who is 31 years younger than Wood! Fast forward a year and the couple are all set to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, though Ronnie and Sally tend to be mistaken as father and daughter rather than husband and wife. Awkward!

Wood, 65, and Humphreys, 34, appear in the latest edition of UK Hello! Magazine, but neither are bothered when approached by complete strangers who think they are father and daughter. Humphreys said, “We were getting off an aeroplane just recently and someone said loudly, ‘Oh my God, it’s Keith Richards.’ Then to make it worse, they asked ‘Are you his daughter?’ I was thinking ‘Please just stop talking.’” In response Wood simply said, “Once in a while, she gets mistaken for my daughter.”

Humphreys went on to say, “The fact is, there is an age gap so it isn’t unreasonable for someone to think that. It seems to bother other people more than it bothers us and then you have to remember you don’t know those people because the people who do know us, don’t flinch about it.”

Well said Sally we couldn’t agree more! All the staff at Hot Gossip would like to wish Sally Humphreys and Ronnie Wood a happy 1st wedding anniversary and many more in the future too.

Editorial: Latest sell out to Hollywood further delays self reliance

Editorial: Latest sell out to Hollywood further delays self reliance

Steven Joyce said that he expected the Avatar films would qualify for the 25 per cent rebate.

What is it about Hollywood that causes the Government to go weak at the knees? To ensure the next three Avatar movies are filmed in this country, it has now offered the sort of concessions that might be expected of the most star-struck of teenagers. An initial disinclination to provide more generous incentives to film-makers has given way to a virtual capitulation.

Not for nothing was 20th Century Fox's Paul Hanneman yesterday referring to New Zealand's "unparalleled support to films of this scale". The cost of that backing will be measured in millions of lost revenue dollars and an industry which, unlike almost any other, continues to believe it will be subsidised to survive.
Video

Not so long ago, the Economic Development Minister, Steven Joyce, was adamant the industry must stand on its own feet, and that increasing incentives to match those of other countries represented an ultimately fruitless race to the bottom.

Support for that view came from an in-depth review by the Treasury, the Ministry for Building, Innovation and Employment and the Film Commission. It recommended the rebate for major film and television production should remain at 15 per cent. Yesterday, however, Mr Joyce announced the rebate had been hiked to 20 per cent, a rate that will increase to 25 per cent for productions that have "significant additional economic benefits" for this country. As Mr Hanneman effectively confirmed, New Zealand has, indeed, reached the bottom.

The Government made great play of the spending of at least $500 million on production activity in this country, including most of the Avatar movies' live action shooting and visual effects. It also pointed to 90 per cent of the live action crew being New Zealanders. But the memorandum of understanding for the three films falls some way short of committing James Cameron, the director, to these. They will be fulfilled only if this country has the "capacity and capability" to meet the production requirements. Mr Cameron has the wriggle room to take shooting and visual effects and post-production work overseas if he wishes.

Mr Joyce said that he expected the Avatar films would qualify for the 25 per cent rebate. The spending on production and the employment of more New Zealanders seem the only justifications for this. The likes of the official red carpet premiere of one of the films being held in this country offer largely a feelgood factor.

The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies at least provided an obvious tourism benefit in terms of this country's image. Even then, it is hard to quantify this, and it was certainly not worth the incentives and changes to the workplace law that were required to retain the filming of the Hobbit here. Seeking to link the Avatar movies to this country's image offers even less, given that it is already ingrained by Sir Peter Jackson's films. In all this, there is more than a whiff of the Government's similarly ill-judged $30 million subsidy to keep the Tiwai Pt aluminium smelter open.

One definite plus, however, is that Cameron's presence means the local industry depends less on Sir Peter. The American film-maker was keen to stress that the agreement with the Government was not just about Avatar but a longer-term lifting of the local industry. That must be the focus. Racing against other countries to offer ever-greater subsidies and relying on work for overseas producers will always end in grief. Already, Cameron has said he would like even bigger rebates. At some point, however, local film-making must be based more on production ownership and control over intellectual property. The deal for the Avatar films only postpones that day.

Awards Judges Resign Over Dame Helen Mirren 'Fix'

Awards Judges Resign Over Dame Helen Mirren 'Fix'

Three judges have resigned from the Evening Standard
Theatre awards after it emerged Dame Helen Mirren
won a prize following a voting alteration.
Dame Helen Mirren picked up her award last month

Dame Helen, who won best actress as the Queen in The Audience, was lagging behind at the end of a secret ballot.

Standard critic Henry Hitchings went on to change his vote, so two actresses no longer tied in first place.

The paper's editor and awards judge Sarah Sands said the move was "an absolutely legitimate choice".

"It would be absolutely wrong to suggest that there was anything untoward about the process," she added.

A judge confirmed to the BBC that the other five panellists were unaware that any changes had been made.

It is not known which of the other shortlisted actresses - Linda Bassett, Lesley Manville, Billie Piper and Kristin Scott Thomas - originally had the same number of votes and tied with Dame Helen at the top.

Three of the judges from the seven-strong panel - theatre critics Charles Spencer, Georgina Brown and Susannah Clapp - will not return for next year's 60th anniversary.

One of them said that "one of the awards seemed like a fix".

Ms Sands said that Mr Hitchings transferred his original vote as he had been a supporter of actress Rosalie Craig, who was subsequently moved into the best musical performance category.

His second choice - Dame Helen Mirren - became his first choice, making her the outright category winner. Ms Sands' vote remained unchanged.
Rosalie Craig (centre) Rosalie Craig (centre) was moved to a new category, resulting in a vote transfer

The move was "a perfectly legitimate and long-standing element of judging", according to an Evening Standard spokesman.

"One judge's first choice in the category in question was a winner in a different category, therefore his second choice became his first vote. The result of the transferred vote, without a clear winner in the category, gave us our best actress," he added.

Charles Spencer, writing in The Telegraph, said his "jaw dropped" when Dame Helen was awarded the prize, and this was the "one glaring exception" which didn't strike some of the judges as fair.

"My impression from the discussions was that the strongest support for best actress was for Linda Bassett for her beautiful and very funny performance in Arnold Wesker's Roots at the Donmar, and Lesley Manville for her superb and harrowing portrayal of Mrs Alving in Ibsen's Ghosts at the Almeida."

Mr Spencer added they were told to bear in mind the Evening Standard's readership when making their choices.

"In the end, awards are no more than the icing on the theatrical cake, but this year it left a bitter taste in the mouth," he concluded.

Critic Libby Purves, who will remain on the panel, said: "There was a raising of eyebrows at one of the awards," but added that other results were satisfactory to the judges.

Ms Sands said that, for the 2014 ceremony, the system would be made open rather than secret.

Daily Mail critic Baz Bamigboye and Paul Taylor from The Independent are to become judges on next year's panel.

Jennifer Lawrence was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She has 2 older brothers, Ben (Meredith) and Blaine, her parents are Gary and Karen Lawrence.

Jennifer, known to her friends and family as “Jen”, was discovered in New York City at the age of 14. Before Jennifer became an actor, she was involved in cheerleading, field hockey, softball, and modeling, none of which she held a passion for.

In the spring of 2004, she traveled to New York City and set up a few auditions with talent and modeling agencies. After conducting her first cold read, the agents told her mother that “it was the best cold read by a 14- year-old they had ever heard”, and tried to convince her mother that she needed to spend the summer in Manhattan. After leaving the agency, Jen was spotted by an agent in the midst of shooting an H&M ad and asked to take her picture. The next day, that agent followed up with her and invited her to the studio for a cold read audition. Again, the agents were highly impressed and strongly urged her mother to allow her to spend the summer in New York City.

As fate would have it, she did spend that summer in New York City and appeared in commercials such as MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16″ and played a role in the movie, Devil You Know (2009). Shortly thereafter, her career forced her and her family to move to Los Angeles where she was cast in the TBS sitcom “The Bill Engvall Show” (2007) and

Perhaps her most well-known work to date is her role as “Ree Dolly” in Debra Granik’s Winter’s Bone (2010). Released in early 2010, the film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and earned Lawrence several awards such as Best Newcoming Actress at October’s Hollywood Awards.

movies such as The Poker House (2008) and The Burning Plain (2008).

http://kantepur.blogspot.com/2013/11/longoria-heading-to-politics.html
AMSTERDAM — US pop sensationalist Miley Cyrus took her publicity-seeking further still on Sunday by smoking a cannabis joint as she received her award for Best Video at the MTV European Music Awards in Amsterdam on Sunday.

The evening?s biggest winner was hip-hop icon Eminem who took home two awards, but Cyrus, 20, kept the spotlight firmly on herself after kicking off the show by twerking with a latex-clad dwarf called Little Britney.

Thanking the director of her hit single ?Wrecking Ball? for the award, Cyrus took to the stage in a tight white body suit and platform heels and said: ?I don?t have room for the award in my bag but I did find this??

She then took what appeared to be a half-smoked joint out of her Chanel bag and lit it up at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, where you can buy cannabis in the city?s coffee shops and where Cyrus had been photographed earlier with Dutch DJ Afrojack.

?I?d like to thank Terry Richardson for putting this together,? said Cyrus, a self-confessed weed smoker.

The world?s pop glitterati descended on Amsterdam for the event, with Eminem putting in a surprise performance by stepping out of a giant boombox afer winning the Global Icon and Hip Hop awards.

Canada?s Justin Bieber won the Best Male award for the fourth year running, and thanked his fans in a pre-recorded video message.

The UK?s One Direction won the award for Best Pop, and US singer Beyonce won Best Live, with both also saying a cursory thanks in a pre-recorded video.

Norwegian Internet sensation and comedy duo Ylvis performed their hit ?The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?), which has clocked over 200 million views on YouTube in the last two months, wearing matching fox outfits with long tails on an otherwise galactic-themed night.

China?s Chris Lee (Li Yuchun) won the ward for Worldwide Act, the thrid year that an Asian artist has won the award.

Talent show winner Lee thanked the audience and ?all the people who love Chinese music? as she accepted the award, wearing thigh-length leather boots and beating off competition from the likes of South Korea's Exo and Morocco's Ahmed Soultan.

US actor and singer Jared Leto attempted a moment's silence in memory of the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which may have killed over 10,000 people over the weekend, but was overwhelmed by whistles and screaming.

The evening?s MC Redfoo hailed Eminem as ?truly an icon,? who has sold over 80 million albums and won 11 MTV video music awards and 13 Grammies since 1999.

?Wow, this is crazy. Thank you to everybody for everything over the years, I love award, I love award, I love math,? Eminem said.

?I was just sitting back there sipping champagne looking at all those amazing artists, thinking how am I gonna win?? US singer Katy Perry said after winning the award for Best Female.

The event held a ?satellite? party with DJ Afrojack at famed Amsterdam venue the Melkweg, featuring a special guest performance by hip-hop veteran Snoop Dogg, rapping through a glove-shaped diamante-encrusted microphone.

Organisers said that the show at the Ziggo Dome required at least 30 litres of body paint, 20 litres of liquid latex and 20 kilos of glitter.

The MTV Europe Awards are held each year in a different European city, with past hosts including Frankfurt in 2012, Belfast in 2011 and Madrid in 2010.
