Man axes father-in-law‚ niece to death in Tanahun

42-year-old man murdered his two relatives, including 71-year-old father-in-law and 16-year-old niece, in Byas-8 of Tanahun in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Using an axe, police said, Laxman BK hacked his wife’s father Shankar BK and her sister's daughter Manisha (16) at the latter’s house in Sangethulotar, Byas-8 at around 2 am today. According to police, Laxman, a permanent resident of Deurali-6 of Kaski, had come to his wife’s parental house in Byas some five days ago. Though the incident occurred just a couple of hours after the midnight, police team led by District Police Office (DPO) Chief Mohan Kumar Acharya reached the site this afternoon. Motive behind the murder is yet to be established, according to SP Acharya. Laxman fled after murdering the duo. Police said they have launched a manhunt to get hold him of the murderer. The victims' bodies are being taken to Damauli Hospital for postmortem. -
