Three individuals of approximate ages 6, 15 and 40 were observed in naturalistic settings. Two of the observations were done in a regular classroom where most of the individuals were of adolescent age, 3-4 of early adulthood stage and one of middle adulthood stage of life. The third observation was done in an after-school-tutoring class where individuals were approximately from age group 6 to 45. This observation was done with the objective of finding out about the behavior pattern of individuals of different age groups. The people that were observed were at different developmental stages of life. As the observations’ main focus was to find more about the differences or similarities between individuals in different development stages of life, I decided that the individuals to be observed should be of same gender in order to prevent the observation results getting affected by gender differences. The first subject was a female of age approximately 15 years of age i.e. of adolescent stage, the second was approximately in her 40s i.e. of middle adulthood and the third was approximately 6 years old i.e. in middle childhood.
The thing that I observed at first was the physical development in all the three of my subjects. The female who was approximately 6 yrs old was about 3”7’ feet and was very thin. She seemed to be very active though and playful as she was trying to run all around whenever possible and seems restless. She was just as playful how it was mentioned by Laura E. Berk in the book Development through the lifespan.
