Directors Ramesh Budhathoki, Suresh Darpan Pokharel and Suraj Subba joined the party in the program. Cinematographer Purosottam Pradhan, photographer Rajiv Shrestha, singer Prakash Ojha also joined the party in the program. nepali congress party entry (1)
After joining the party, the artists have expressed their support to the party in helping it win the upcoming election.

After the incident, almost all of the artists in the Nepali film industry have joined political parties. Many artists had previously joined CPN (Maoist) and some had joined CPN (UML) in different programs.

Some actors don’t know about their party memberships

The news of more than 150 artists joining Nepali Congress came by surprise to many. It was particularly surprising to those who heard their own name in the news. For example, actress Mala Subba was surprised on her name included in the list of artists joining the party.

It turned out – the artists were invited for a tea party at the residence of the party president. All those who attended the party were told to have joined the party. Actor Aayush Rijal told that he was in the residence of Sushil Koirala only for the tea party. He clarified, he has no intention of joining any political parties. Aayush told that he was invited by director Suresh Darpan Pokharel for the tea party. It was Pokharel who told about the 150 artists joining Nepali Congress.
Actor and director Ramesh Budhathoki also claimed not to have joined Nepali Congress. He admitted to be supporting the party but, he isn’t a formal member of the party. Actor Jiwan Luitel has the similar statement. Sctress Jharana Thapa is currently in Europe tour, she is also told to have joined the party.

Aayush Rijal’s statement however conflicts with the following photo that shows the banner stating – Artist’s Party Entry Program. There is no mention of tea party in the banner.

Actors Binod Shrestha and Shyam Aryal have also stated that they haven’t joined the party.

Kollywood Movies Review "MASAN"

http://widget3.linkwithin.com/redirect?url=http%3A//kantepur.blogspot.com/2013/09/blog-post_2.html&vars=%5B%22http%3A//kantepur.blogspot.com/2013/10/sex-scandal-of-namrata-shrestha.html%22%2C%201990641%2C%200%2C%20%22http%3A//kantepur.blogspot.com/2013/10/sex-trainer-lady.html%22%2C%20339145265%2C%201%2C%20339145341%5D&ts=1383718456464
There is no two opinions about the quality of the drama, by Late Gopal Prashad Rimal, but it’s the story and screenplay writer who tarnishes the master piece by making such mediocre movie.
Audience is unaware, where the story is going during the first half. While elaborate depth to portray the human emotions, the confrontation between the characters and within oneself is missing in the second half. The director has wasted ample footage even to justify minuscule point, but lacks to justify the significant theme of the drama.

Despite brilliant post production and rich cinematography (most of the times), lauding performance by main leads specially ‘Helen’ played by Keki the movie falls flat due to poor screenplay, editing and above all worst direction. I am no movie maker to judge and dissect each and every frame of the movie, or to say about cost and effort needed to bring out whatever the director has served on the screen for 1:40 Hrs, but as a viewer and avid cinema lover, I can say the movie was complete disappointment.
Masan is a story set in early Rana regime period, probably few years after 1990 B.S. earthquake, is take upon the male dominant society.
How man can (ab)use women both physically and emotionally in a society without any penalty. The director has chosen to show those repressed emotions and agony of women subtly, which is the biggest mistake any drama maker makes.
The movies does have some highs; like for instant when Subhadra Adhikary says ‘Everyone needs Kanchi Wife…’. Also when she asks, “what if the ‘kanchi’ wife gives birth to a girl baby instead of boy ?” gives idea of the society that these characters live in. Despite being embellished with such strong words, the script and screenplay writer couldn’t come up with something creative to match those lines of Gopal Prashad Rimal, which in turns off the viewer with UNWANTED long footages irrelevant to the story.
In a gist, the movie beings with a couple; Helen (Keki) & her husband (Raj Ballav Koirala), Helen is barren due to her husband’s fault of overdosing her with contraceptive medicines. Interestingly Helen is unaware of this crime done by her husband. She needs a MALE baby, that too from her husband, at any cost. She dreams of that baby, despite being one of the foster parents of a boy (who is their own nephew). Her only way to get the baby is to let his husband marry another woman and impregnate her. Despite so many objections by her husband, she persuades her husband to marry the other women (Nita Dhungana). But, things just get complicated once the baby boy is born.
How a happy home can turn into graveyard (Masan) with one small mistake, that surrounds the remaining part of the movie. Unfortunately, it takes more than 3/4th of the movie to reach this point, by then you are almost bored. The whole face-off between the two wives, confrontation and self guilt of Raj and Raj’s final marriage, which could have been major highlights of the movie are shortened, while unwanted shots of marriage ceremony, railway tracks and Hindi passenger conversation, bed scenes are elaborated which does not help the story to progress.
In terms of performance, almost all actors have done fantastic job, especially both Keki & Nita have played their characters perfectly. Raj’s has also underplayed the role as per the demand of the script. Only annoying character is the person who played Raj’s father. His imprudent laughing behavior mess the flow of the story.
Had the director and script writer took just an inspiration from the drama and adapted the story in his own style the movie might have turned better, but without any kind of creativity shown in the script, direction and editing department, the movie just becomes a regular passable fare and makes mockery of such great drama.

Is sex good for Nepali film industry?

http://kantepur.blogspot.com/2013/10/sex-trainer-lady.html
chapali_height_poster"Chapali height" got a good media coverage both before and after release. That was partly because of different controversies the movie was involved in before it was released, and ‘sexual psychology’ highlighted in it’s promotion. Although some have questioned the validity of the claims of its producer that ‘Chapali Height‘ has collected 50 lakhs in a single day, the publicity and viewers in theaters show it should have had a decent  opening. But, one can expect the initial response to fade in lights of negative reviews it is getting from critics and viewers.

Now, the question arises – is the movie getting negative review from viewers just because it has got sexual contents?

‘Chapali Height‘ compares well with a previous similar movie ‘Pal Pal Ma‘ released about two years ago. The movie ‘Pal Pal Ma‘ had also got an adult certificate from the censor board and it was publicized as the first Nepali movie to get an adult certificate. The ‘A’ certificate itself proved to be a tool of good publicity, and a good business as well. But, in essence, ‘Pal Pal Ma‘ had nothing to win the hearts of its viewers and virtually nobody appreciated it as a movie. In the movie, the topic of sex was only used for publicity and it was used in a vulgar way. (watch Palpalma here)

I think, history is repeating in case of ‘Chapali Height‘ too. In the case of both movies, small group of people liked the movie and the majority didn’t.

Are adult movies bad?

I don’t think adult movies are bad. If made properly they can be informative and helpful in the betterment of Nepali film industry. Religion and culture don’t necessarily bind Nepali movies. Our society needs such movies to cater the needs of adult audience. And, it won’t hurt the society if sex is not sued in cheap and vulgar manner. Although nobody can stop film makers to make movies just to cater sexual contents, viewers would appreciate sex contents catered in better manner.

By the study of these few cases, it is clear that movies with sexual content have bright future in Nepali film market. One can easily guess that a trend of making such movies will start in Nepali movie industry in near future. Yes, sex sells in Nepali market. If the movie is made on a good story and matching acting talent, good reviews and publicity of mouth would certainly help in a long term success of the movies.

Although criticized for being vulgar, the contributions of ‘Chapali Height‘ and ‘Pal Pal Ma‘ in introducing adult topics in Nepali movie industry are appreciable. Taking cue from these movies, I expect future movie makers to make sensible and appreciable movies in sex topics.

Usha Poudel wants to be a virgin mom – actress profile

Usha Poudel wants to be a virgin mom – actress profile
Usha_Paudel
Nepali actress Usha Poudel has told that she want to adopt a kid to become a virgin mom. She doesn’t want to marry now, but she likes kids very much so she found a easy solution to the problem. Usha told that she likes baby girls very much. Usha was talking to the journalists of Nayapatrika.

In her free time, Usha Poudel teaches dance to the kids aged 4 to 20 at her home for free. Usha_Paudel

Usha’s upcoming films are ‘Rana Sangram’, ‘Palpalma’, ‘Mero Gati Ke Hune Ho’, ‘Sathi re’, ‘Damini’, and ‘Aljhechha Kyare Pacheuri’ are waiting to be released soon. Shooting of a movie named ‘Kassam’ has stalled due to the absence of Nikhil Upreti.

usha_poudelApart from movies, Usha has acted in more than two dozens music videos. She doesn’t find much difference in acting in a movie and a music video. She says, “Acting is same in movies and music video,’ she added, ‘The only difference is that the response of music video comes sooner than the movies.”

Usha Poudel in her own words:

Childhood
I was born on July 18, 1983 in Janakpur, Dhanusa to Kamal Prasad Poudel and mother Mittu Poudel. I have an elder sister and a younger brother.
We came to Kathmandu when I was just a child, and its been about 19 years that we have settled here in Kathmandu. Since my childhood I was somewhat mischievous and I loved to dance a lot but I was never good at studies. Once I stole 20 rupees from my father’s pocket and after coating it with mud and dust I showed it to my father saying that I found it in the road. My dad told me that he also had misplaced a 20 rupee note somewhere, and eventually found out the real story behind it. But he did not say anything to me nor did he punish me but then I was really scared. I can never forget that one incident ever.

I started my schooling from Kankya Ishwori Lower Secondary School in Kathmandu, I studied there till grade 5th and then joined Mahendra Bhrikuti School where I studied till the 6th grade and my education from 7th grade till SLC was done from Kanti Ishowri Kanya School. After SLC I got involved into acting and couldn’t continue my academics, actually I didn’t have much interest in studies.usha_poudel_3

Journey Into Acting

I was always interested in dancing; right from my childhood. When I was 13 years old I performed at a program and a gentleman from Audio Sound Industries happen to be present and he noticed me. The company used to look after the distribution and marketing of movie soundtracks and lots of movie related people visited the company. That gentleman introduced me to the movie producer Ramkrishna Bajagai who offered me a role in his movie ‘Jangay’ but since I was just a kid, I couldn’t do the role. Later he assured me of working with me later in one of his movies and he did give me my first break in ‘Karma’. As I used to perform on stage before I didn’t have any hassle facing the camera for the first time, and director Dayaram Dahal also helped me out.

‘Muna Madan’  followed soon and this is the movie that got me established in the industry. I have done altogether 21 movies till date and some of the movies that I worked in are ‘Godhuli’, ‘Timro Maya’, ‘Pyari Bahini’, ‘Ganga’, ‘Jetho Kancho’, ‘Ram Laxman’, ‘Baaz’, ‘Krodh’, ‘Maya Nagara’. These days I am busy with the shooting of ‘Jwalamukhi’. Apart from that I am also working on Melina Manandhar’s tele serial ‘Karuna’. Before ‘Karuna’ I had also worked on serials like ‘Puspanjali’, ‘Kasali Aafno Bhanum’ and ‘Dui Din Ko Jindagani’.

When I used to go to a movie as a spectator, I used to hear a lot of bad things about different actresses. But when I myself entered the movie industry as an actress I came to know that all the talks and gossip were presented without knowing the truth and fact about the particular actresses. Actually there is no dark side or negative aspect to the movie industry, its just that things are exaggerated more than what it actually is. As far as I know all the news and scandals that are published in the magazines are all fake or someone publishes them just to settle their grudges. I became all clear on this matter once I entered the movie industry. But then lots of people also talk about physical, mental and financial exploitation that occurs in the industry. All I can say is – if two people don’t have any objection in having a physical relationship then there is no way it can be called physical exploitation and as finances, sometimes there are occasions when the payment is rather lesser than what it was initially agreed upon, and that is not a big thing in the industry if you can settle it amicably.
I used to work in a dance restaurant as a dancer before I came into the movie industry. This is my profession and I respect my work. At one time I was really in need of money and I started working as a dancer and I still do so. I used to perform at Daisy Spider and now I am doing numbers at ShowPalace. But these days I can’t give much time to it because of my busy movie schedules.

I have traveled to quite a few places including London, Austria, Germany, Holland, Japan, Belgium, Korea, Qatar, Malaysia in the course of my work and now I am scheduled to perform at Dubai on the 13th of March. I do have plans of continuing my career here in the movie industry but lets see… I won’t mind changing lanes if a better opportunity knocks on the door.

Me Myself

I am a very frank natured woman, and I really feel sad when I see old and week people especially in the streets begging. My bad habit is that I am rather short tempered but I get convinced easily

too. Sometimes I speak more than what is actually required and this often hurts certain people, and I really hate this habit of mine. I also have a nature of trusting anyone easily too.

Love, Marriage and Sex

Love should be shared with everyone. But I don’t believe in love that occurs during
the teenage stages and I don’t like that too. Though love is everything here it is being misused. Marriage is an essential phase of the journey of life, because it would be difficult to spend the rest of your life alone and there are certain things that can be shared only in a married relationship. Sex is a physical need of every human being. I don’t think sex should be taken as a serious matter. As every whisper is a matter of curiosity, sex is somewhat similar to it and should be taken normally. If there is a mutual understanding then I don’t think it matters whoever we have sex with, but it should not be a matter to be regretted later. Firstly sex should be taken as a matter of pleasure and we should not keep a narrow mind about it. I haven’t thought about marriage till now and I don’t know what will happen in the
