NC President Koirala wishes UCPN (Maoist) would correct its decision

President of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, has said a character that could not accept the people’s voting right could not be a democratic force.

Speaking at a press conference organized at his own residence here today, NC President Koirala said, “Unified CPN (Maoist) chairman Prachandaji’s statement against the people’s voting rights and to boycott the vote count was utterly undemocratic and stressed on the need of accepting the victory or defeat with patience.”

Koirala said participants of the election should not have arrogance that they should win at any cost, adding that the politics against the ideals, norms, and values do no good to the people and the country.

NC leader Koirala said,” Prachandaji needs to have patience. Such attitude of a political leader like Prachanda would make himself weaker and make his party unpopular.”

Koirala said his party is ready to accept the people’s mandate whether or not it would  win, and added, “I hope that the UCPN (Maoist) would correct the decision and would not undermine the people’s mandate.”

Koirala said the constitution would be made by forging consensus and collaboration among the political parties whether they are big or small. NC wishes to draft the constitution by forging consensus among the parties, he added.
