A pregnant woman has given birth to a baby at the polling center in Babla VDC-6 in Accham district on Tuesday.
Hira Bista, a resident of ward no.6 of the district, delivered a healthy baby soon after casting her ballot at the polling center, local Bir Bahadur Bista informed.
Heavily pregnant Bista, who had come to vote lying on a stretcher at 8 am today morning, went into labour pain immediately after voting and delivered the baby, journalist Purna Bahadur Bista said.
Meanwhile, an elderly man has died while returning from the polling center after casting his ballot in Birgunj today.
The deceased has been identified as Gaurshankar Manandhar, 73, a permanent resident of Birgunj Municipality-15.
Manandhar had fallen unconscious while returning from National Trading Corporation polling center. Thereafter, he was immediately rushed to Narayani Sub-zonal Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Manandhar's son Sanjiv said his father had been suffering from high-blood pressure since long.
