The Bara District Court on Wednesday remanded Rama Thakur and his brother Ramekbal, who were held on the charge of murdering Rama’s daughter Bindu Thakur, in custody.
After a hearing, the single bench of Judge Achyut Prasad Bhandari remanded the accused duo in custody while the victim’s mother was freed on date. The court recorded the statement of the accused on Tuesday.
District Attorney Govinda Prasad Upadhyay advocated on behalf of the plaintiff while Om Prakash Keshari and Paramhamsa Keshari defended the case in the court.
Charred body of Bindu of Prastoka VDC-5, a tenth-grader student, was found dumped near a bamboo grove some 70 metres away from her house on December 26. Police said Bindu was burnt alive by her family members after finding out that she was romantically involved with her classmate.
